Spreading the Word of Godin a Digital Age

The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) Commission for Bible hosted its All India Bible Conference 2026 from January 20 to 22 at the prestigious Inigo Sadan campus in Pune. Themed “Innovative Pathways in Proclaiming the Word of God in India,” the three-day gathering brought together bishops, priests, religious, and lay leaders from across the country to explore creative and contemporary means of evangelisation. John 3:16 Mission Foundation was honoured to be represented at this landmark event by its founder and director, Mr. Piyush Pushkal.

A Platform for Visionaries

The conference was inaugurated in the presence of His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias, Archbishop Emeritus of Bombay, and chaired by Most Rev. Antonysamy Peter Abir, Chairman of the CCBI Commission for Bible. Distinguished speakers, theologians, and pastoral workers delivered sessions spanning the prophetic ministry of Scripture, Magisterium, catechesis, and ecumenical collaboration — all united by a call to embrace innovative pathways in making God’s Word alive for today’s India.

Among the highlights of Day 1 was an engaging panel discussion titled “Creative Pathways in Biblical Pastoral Ministry,” where thought leaders across media, healing ministry, digital outreach, and publishing gathered to share how they are bringing the Gospel to new audiences in a rapidly changing world.
