The tongue of the wise heals

“Even if you’re right, if you’re rude, you’re wrong.”

Rudeness is a weak man’s attempt at strength. It’s not tough love, it’s bullying.

What this world needs more of is true strength that comes from wisdom and love, not big egos.

How to handle yourself when you’re right:

Be right, not argumentative. The truth doesn’t need your help to be right. Real truth stands on its own.

You’re still right even if the other person disagrees. The truth isn’t dependent on agreement.

If you’re right, be right with grace and humility. Do the same if you’re wrong.

Well, you all know that old saying, “Be careful what you hear about somebody, you might be hearing it from the problem.” And let me tell you, that’s some mighty wise advice. You see, folks love to talk, and sometimes they say things that just ain’t true. They spread rumors and gossip, and before you know it, a person’s reputation is tarnished.⁣

But what we don’t always realize is that the one spreading the rumors might just be the problem themselves. They might be jealous or insecure, and they’re trying to bring others down to make themselves feel better. So don’t be so quick to believe everything you hear. Take a moment to consider the source and remember that sometimes the loudest voice in the room is the one with the most to hide.⁣

Instead, let’s strive to be people of integrity and truth. Let’s speak kindly of others and assume the best until proven otherwise. And if we do hear something that’s not so flattering, let’s take it with a grain of salt and seek the truth for ourselves. That’s the only way we can build trust and respect in our relationships and communities.⁣

There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
